Quite simply put, the reason why My children experience "lingering" problems in spite of all of "their" efforts is that they are operating from their "own" strength and understanding [from the position of a heart that is not "wholly" given to Me in the area that they are having difficulty] - and, thus, they continually open the door to the Evil One to "maintain" his mind-sets [strongholds of fear] and schemes in their life. Casting the care of any "ground" exposed by My Spirit upon Me [as they draw near to Me in the "inner chamber"], and bringing EVERY thought captive to a revelation of My Will [Word] will lead to obedience in even the smallest of things that are "revealed" to their heart - and this "ongoing" [abiding] obedience will spontaneously provide the solution to the problem [s] - without exception.         ...."He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much".... Luke 16:10 NASB         ...."humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully [Ps. 55:22]".... 1 Peter 5:6-7 The Amplified Translation         ...."We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience [Love] of Christ".... 2 Corinthians 10:5 NASB

Be Alert!

“But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:8


A preacher friend was walking away from another friend when this friend called out to him, “Well, so long! Love God. Hate sin. And watch out for trucks!” Now, that’s good advice. Trucks will hurt you if they hit you. It doesn’t matter whether you’re saved or lost.


We all need to love God. We all need to hate sin. But I want to tell you we are also human and we need to watch out for the things in life that may hurt us. God has given us the mind of Christ and we need to use that mind (see 1 Corinthians 2:16).


Is your head in the clouds today? Are you alert to the things of this world that could harm you? Be sober. Be alert. And watch out for trucks!

Hydrate Your Soul

Don’t deny your anger.  Don’t dismiss your loneliness.  Your restless spirit.  Your sense of dread.  Don’t let your heart shrink into a raisin.  Hydrate your soul.  Heed your thirst!


Not everything you put to your lips will help your thirst.  The arms of forbidden love may satisfy for a time, but only for a time.  Eighty-hour workweeks grant a sense of fulfillment, but never remove the thirst.


Religion pacifies but never satisfies.  Church activities may hide a thirst, but only Christ quenches it.   Drink him.  And drink of him often!


Don’t you need regular sips from God’s reservoir?  I do.  I step to the underground spring of God and receive anew his work for my sin and death, the energy of his Spirit, his lordship, and his love.


Receive Christ’s work on the cross, the energy of His Spirit.  His unending, unfailing love.
Drink deeply–and drink often!
