The only reason that we have life is because of the Road that Jesus walked for our sakes.
Down the Vía Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed in to see
The Man condemned to die on Calvary
He was bleeding from a beating, there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head
And He bore with every step
The scorn of those who cried out for His death
Down the Vía Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King,
But He chose to walk that road out ofI

Jesus CHOSE to walk that Road, to endure the horrific suffering, the brutal beatings, and ultimately a heinous death upon the Cross- for my sake, and for yours. Today, remember what the Lord willingly endured so that we could have abundant life in Him; and how we must also take up our crosses. Jesus said in Luke 9:23,
"Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves, take up their cross daily and follow me."
I want to be a faithful disciple of the One who laid down His life for me, a sinner. I want to be a lover of the Cross. I want to daily deny myself and take up my cross, and walk down this Road with my Savior by my side. Thank your for the Cross Lord.
